Flagstone Concrete Overlay Driveway

This concrete overlay was carved to replicate flagstone. It covered an ugly damaged driveway.

In the picturesque town of Oceanside, Oregon, located along the North Oregon Coast, we had a project involving an old concrete patio. The client wanted a fresh look, a resurfacing of the old concrete. To begin, we used muratic acid to prep the surface, ensuring it was thoroughly cleaned. After that, we applied a 3/8″ layer of fresh concrete overlay on top of the old one. We didn’t stop there. To add character, we stained the fresh layer with a light grey hue, and then treated it with a darker grey antique color, creating a two-toned effect. We also engraved an 8″ border around the patio and stained it a dark grey for contrast. The outcome was a stunning, renewed concrete overlay that brought life back to the old patio.
