Concrete Overlay Project Description:

OCF Decorative Concrete recently took part in an overlay training at Deco-Crete training in Columbus Ohio (January 2021).  This was our third training in overlays–it was incredibly information and inspiring.

For horizontal overlays we practiced large-stoned Flagstone, large reclaimed lumber 16″ planks, natural wood textured, royal ashlar with wood borders, and many others.  Overlays are great for restoring concrete into a brand new finish without the need to tear out existing concrete.  

For vertical overlays we practiced natural flagstone, castle rock, brick, and mountain dry stack.  This started with a scratch coat, carving, texturing, and then coloring & sealing.  Vertical overlays are great as a stand alone substitute for real rock or to cover veridical concrete.
